This was the third year at the Dakota Challenge and nothing broke! On the way out we hit a bunch of bats and they got splattered all over the trailer and motor home. Except for having to come back home, that was the worst that happened! As usual, mostly the same crew from our club attended. |

Here's the obligatory shot of the campground and a morning line up. No power outages this year, just a lot of fun. We got on Twisted with Jerry for a pre-run the day before and had a blast. We met up with Bob ( " BkWudz " ) from New Hampshire and we went on all the trails together. |
|
Twisted was a kick as it was not yet open. We went about halfway and decided to go back, visit Deadwood Dick's, and have a brew or two or three or ...... well, anyway, here's a shot of Bob trying to make it under an 'obstacle.' |

Once again, we found ourselves on Iceman. Jason opened up a new route on the front end of the trail and was it fun! Our team made it through in record time with very few breakages. Damn! We're good! |
|
Here's Bob playing around on the first real challenge. By the time he was done, he was winched, with his side along the rock to the left, for about 15 feet. This was great entertainment. |

There are a few waterfalls on the trail. Here's a shot of Tim and one of me working our way up. Not a whole lot to say about this trail this year. Everything clicked so well. I guess it makes up for past years. (I wonder what's gonna happen in '99 to make up for this year!!) |

On to Dr. Tim's trail, Rodeo. This was the one I didn't want to take last year because it was led by a Cherokee. Well . . . this has turned out to be one of our favorites and Dr. Tim pleased us all this year since he came up with some major new additions to the trail. While this wasn't one of the new parts, it's just a cool photo. |

And here's the last of the '98 shots. I did three years worth of these things this morning so I'm webbed out. Maybe when I add the 99 DTC I'll come back and add a few more stories about 98. Once again, we had a blast and keep coming back every year as long as the Black Hills 4 Wheelers don't kick our butts out! |
